Ella Herbert teaches in the Year 3/4 classroom on Mondays and the Year 5/6 classroom on Tuesdays.
Ella holds a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education from the University of Notre Dame, and has many years of experience working with children from birth to Year 7. She has developed a deep passion for inquiry and nature-based education; this aligns closely with Kerry Street’s educational values.
Ella aims to create an inclusive classroom where students are encouraged to pursue their interests and passions, nurturing students’ holistic development. She believes that a collaborative learning environment provides many wonderful opportunities for students to discuss, share and learn. Ella supports her students by creating an environment where students are capable beings, who are allowed to make mistakes. An environment that encourages students to be authentic learners and always try their best. Ella’s background is in early childhood education, and she has a passion for the Rudolf Steiner philosophy, making her a compassionate, kind and caring teacher.
Hi, my name is Carolyn and I am currently the Education Assistant in the Year 1/2 classroom.
I began my exciting and fantastic journey with the Kerry Street community in February 2013. I always wanted to be in education and working here is a fulfilment of that dream. I love working with students because of the opportunity to be part of the amazement and joy that comes from their learning and discovery.
I believe that learning should incorporate a good balance of play-based exploration in both small and whole-group sessions and that it should also include a sense of safety, community and a big dose of humour.
Hello! I’m Kisani and the Education Assistant currently working two days in the Kindy/Pre-Primary class and three days across the Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 class.
I have been an Education Assistant, Childcare Assistant and In-Home Educator for over a decade now. In that time, I have worked with all age groups from children in Kindergarten through to children in high school, and with many students who have special and additional needs.
I believe I add a calm yet energetic personality to our school and am flexible enough to adapt to any situation that may arise. Throughout the years, I have been fortunate to work closely with many culturally and linguistically diverse families, which helps to shape my cultural competence and appreciation of diversity.
I joined the Kerry Street team in March 2017 and since then have most closely worked with our Principal Melissa Kennedy and our Deputy of Teaching and Learning Taylah Griffin.
No two days at Kerry Street are ever quite the same which provides for an interesting and fun work life!
