At Kerry Street, The Arts are an important part of At Kerry Street, The Arts are an important part of how children explore ideas, build confidence, take creative risks and find different ways to express themselves.This term, our Visual Arts program has been wonderfully hands-on, with clay taking centre stage. Students have experimented with different techniques and processes, developing their skills while creating everything from individual pieces to collaborative worlds.In Performing Arts, creativity has taken a different form. Students have explored storytelling and performance in a range of ways, including creating sock puppets connected to learning about Aboriginal cultures and histories, developing small class performances, and, in Kaarla Mia, working together towards a stage production.We love that The Arts make room for so many different kinds of learners and so many different kinds of success. There is space to experiment, make mistakes, be playful, practise a skill, contribute an idea, step onto a stage, or discover a completely new way to communicate.Because creativity isn’t just something we make. It’s a way of thinking, exploring and making sense of the world. ❤️Inspired to learn. Empowered to care. Nurtured to thrive.

The rain certainly didn’t stop our school from feeling full of warmth, connection and life.A huge thank you to our staff, who put so much time, thought and care into preparing their spaces, sharing the learning happening across our school and welcoming families and visitors throughout the evening.To our families and community members who cooked soup, contributed food, helped behind the scenes, jumped in where needed and simply came along to be part of it — thank you. Nights like this are only possible because so many people contribute their time, energy and love.And to our students, thank you for bringing the school to life! Open Night 2026

THURSDAY 3 SEPTEMBER | 5:30 – 8:00PM

Come and experience Kerry Street. Explore our classrooms, gardens and Wild Space, meet our educators, and experience our community in action. Enjoy soup stalls, browse student market stalls, and get hands-on with an Educated by Nature tinkering activation in our Maker Space.

Everyone is welcome.
